morning
of 11/30/06-at cardiff pass. in the distance is the alta parking
lot
The Wasatch front was blanketed
with 3 days of a cold storm. Totals in the 10,000' range was 20-40 inches of
incredible snow. it came in at the perfect density for the conditions. not
slabby, not too light, just perfect. amazingly the 2 to 4 feet are sitting on
variable snow conditions raging from bullet ice to sugary facets, but the snow
has bonded well and is sitting pretty. One natural avalanche released on the N
side, but the south side of cardiff (above) was stable and ready to ride. I
finally got my powder run that i've been yearning
for.
EZ,
my skiing buddy on this am trip, is
stoked
Such
good snow. it was perfect. we started hiking at 8am and we were done by
10.
