The Big D The day after prelims, I flew to Dallas, Texas,
to meet up with some of my best friends from high school. Michael Berk works
for the Four Season's
Hotel and Resort and Club at Las
Colinas.
Our friend, Vinay Shiriwastaw, flew in from San
Francisco to meet up with us. It was a weekend of dancehall and golf. Thank
you to Berk and Vin for making it happen. It was the most relaxing weekend that
I have had in several months and some of the most fun I have had in years.
Unfortunately, I cannot convert the songs that were recorded (I will work on
getting the originals) but you get the gist from the pictures (though the
pictures do not do the tunes justice!).
\Any good vacation day starts with a liccle top shelf rum!

And we will sing, as long as we live, we shall sing. Jah! Rastafari.
Waillin!
Golfers, check in please.
Vin and I will be golfing on hallowed ground. Watch over us, Lord Byron! The TPC Cottonwood Golf Course was built in 1982 and designed by none other than Robert Trent Jones, Jr. A par-71 track measuring 6367 yards from the Blues, 6927 from the tips, and home to the PGA tour's EDS Byron Nelson Championship, the first green is in the shape of the state of Texas. Vin and I walked the same course that legends of golf have walked. We played Match, and going into the 18th, we were tied in holes won and by stroke. I couldn't have asked for a better finish. On the Par 4 18th, I played my second shot into the rightside woods, while vin layed up in front of the green and pitched his way pin side. I went for the green in 2, while Vin played smart (puss). I scrambled to get on in 3 and faced a long putt. I missed by inches, and vin went on to take the match. A tough course, and we played our hearts out. Berk, I'll never forget this! My only regret is that I didn't take more pictures on the course!! The following are from a google image search, but you see how beautiful the course is. ![]() ![]() (from the four seasons website) and of course, i have to thank our sponsors: Lil' John And Samuel L Jackson Posted: Wed - October 19, 2005 at 04:29 PM |
