Welcome to North River Woodcraft About the Artist Allan Koidahl is a native Northwest artist showing in several galleries and at the Pike’s Place Market. His greatest satisfaction comes from taking wood that most people would see as firewood and releasing the beautiful objects hidden inside. Each piece becomes an original with infinite variation in color and shape. The rough cut wood is dried for several months in his studio in Seattle. Then it is turned carefully on the lathe, hand sanded, rubbed, and finally waxed or finished to bring out its uniqueness.
