Sign of the apocalypse?
In my bathroom there is an impression on the
wall that looks like an image of something. It's been there ever since a shelf
was taken down. It's been painted over but you can still see the remnants of it
if you look closely.
A few years ago in my bathroom I had a shelf
in the corner about 5 feet up the wall that was glued in and was used to hold
razors and tooth brushes and whatnot. It was slowly coming undone so I decided
to rip the thing down before it fell along with everything in it to the trash
can directly below. After I took it down I noticed it left a ripped impression
in the drywall underneath on one side. It looked very familiar but I couldn't
quite place it. Later when it was being painted over it finally dawned on me
what it was. It looked like the state of Illinois...where I just happen to
live.
I grew worried this
could be a sign of the apocalypse. I studied it intensely. I spent hours
wondering what it's meaning was. I searched religious texts. I checked ancient
prophecies. I consulted scholars of all disciplines. I found nothing mentioning
the image of the state of Illinois appearing on the bathroom wall of a skeptic
having any meaning. I was told I was seeing things. I let it slip from my mind.
But in passing one day I noticed another impression just above the Illinois one.
I got a piece of paper and traced the outline. I had a hunch on what it looked
like. I threw open an atlas...and sure enough... there it was... Wisconsin! So
now I had Illinois and Wisconsin on my bathroom wall. Not only that but they
were in the correct geographical locations relative to each
other.
Certainly this wasn't
just a coincidence. I contemplated all the possible meanings to these clues. Did
the spirit of Abraham Lincoln cause this? Was he trying to tell me he wanted
some cheese? Was this a sign of an impending war between close neighbors,
Chicago and Milwaukee? Would meteors strike these two states killing millions? I
had no
answer.
I
was a victim of my own myopia. All I could see were these two states on the
wall. As I pointed it out to a guest to get their input they observed yet
another impression at the top and to the right of Wisconsin. I saw it now too.
It looked like Kentucky. But that didn't make sense to me....of course none of
this made sense. But if it were Kentucky, it would throw off the geographical
accuracy of this growing map. Was this a sign of a soon to come extraordinary
teutonic plate shift that would move Kentucky up on our spinning globe. Would
Indiana be obliterated in the process or would it land some where in Canada?
Would Hoosiers become Hosers, eh? I searched web sites looking for signs of
seismological activity that my indicate this event was about to precipitate.
Still
nothing.
In
the middle of the night as I got up for a drink of water and as I looked it over
once more I had a revelation. It's wasn't Kentucky. It was the upper peninsula
of Michigan. This made more geographical sense. The puzzle pieces fit more
accurately than if it were Kentucky. I was sure now that this most recent
discovery was indeed the U.P. of
Michigan.
But
I still has no reason as to why these things had appeared. I don't have reasons
to this day....only questions. Look for yourself. Judge them, judge me. Do you
see it too? If you have an idea what this means, be sure to let leave a comment.
If it's something bad we all need to know! I outlined the areas in the first
picture to show you what I'm talking about. The second picture I left
untouched.
