How to Join the KMUG1 Yahoo Group
The kmug1 group at Yahoo is
an invitation-only affair.
The following pictures are screenshots that show what happened when I
signed up.
You've gotten an email that looks something like this. If you'd
like to be able to monitor or participate in discussions and
announcements beyond the current Newsletter, press the Join this Group! button in the
invitation you received by email.
The diagram below shows what happens. Ultimately, you can join
either the Group or the Mailing List. You don't need the free
Yahoo account to join the Mailing List, but your access to content is
significantly restricted.
If you haven't been actively using a Yahoo account, your first screen
will likely have this at the upper left:

Once you have an account, you can choose among several group features:
Note: Some folks have found that
Safari does not show
the distorted text in the box.
Try a different browser, e.g.
Netscape, Explorer, FireFox

And you'll finally get an acknowledgment...
