It seems like yesterday...I was less than a year ago at stitches west that i
bought a giagantic ball of yarn that i was totally fascinated
by...
my friend bunny and i found this yarn that looked
really weird and from what we could tell, would knit up into awesome looking
socks. it was self-striping sock yarn. we had never seen it before. or if we
did see it, we didn't understand what it was. oh, we were such beginners back
then.... I also really like that bunny commented that I would be at " the height
of fashion" if i wore my yarn-cutter pendant to stitches this year. and since
she is in england and cannot attend, i think i will wear it as a tribute to
her.
right now i am about to pull out this yarn and attempt my first adult-sized socks. i think i have learned a don't-buy-too-much-yarn lesson. my tastes have totally changed. i would so much rather make myself some nice merino superwash socks, but all i have available is weird cotton self striping sock yarn that just doesn't do it for me right now. (not counting of course the awesome koigu that karen gave me for SP3 - but that is for a good pair of socks when i know what i am doing.) by the way, bunny totally beat me to knitting this yarn into socks:
