Booty!*I bet you didn't see this coming... I have a
bunch of loot from the Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival!
I know you are wondering, 'How did you manage to
fly all the way across the country and back?' I didn't, but my friend Gen did
and she brought me tons of goodies. I was so surprised! I made a request for
some angora, and i got so much more. Here's the
picture:
From the top: I call the first one crazy clown fiber. It is a collection of dyed locks (mohair?) and it contains some glittery plastic stuff (flash? Is that what that stuff is called?). It really looks like it came off of a clown that just wrestled a christmas tree. It is going to be so fun to spin. On the right: Angora! A couple of ounces of "brown" and a couple of ounces of "gray" though they look more colored in this photo than they do in real life... On the suggestion of the gals/guys at the Knitters Review Forums, before I tackle the bunny fur I am going to practice spinning some baby alpaca since it is fine and slippery too. On the bottom: Regia nation stripe sock yarn (there is another ball somewhere). this will help keep me busy as I plan to knit socks all summer. On the left: A couple of ounces of "Finn." Some type of wool in the form of dyed locks. i love spinning locks. especially when someone else has washed them for me. And the best part - Gen got business cards from everyone, so I can order more of anything i want! If you are in love with any of the things pictured and want details, email me or leave a comment and I'll hook you up. For those of you that endured to the end of this long post, I want to point out to you a nice sale going on right now. 8 oz of Henry's attic Kona Superwash for $9.99. Go get some and get dyeing. *i would just like to point out that this is the most correct usage of this word. Check out the Booty Poll results for details. I love how many times i use the word booty in this blog (tee-hee). Posted: Wed - May 11, 2005 at 10:47 AM | |
