So much knitting, so little timeI have been very busy at school lately, and my
blog has suffered from neglect. I have been able to squeeze in a little bit of
knitting, so here is the update...
The Ribby Cardi is practically done! All of the knitting is finished, it just needs blocked, sewed together, and a zipper (well i thought i was almost done, but that sounds like a lot!). I think i made an error at the end of the sleeves that results in the top of the sleeve (the part that goes over your shoulder) that is really too long, but i will figure it out when i sew it together. I am certainly not a perfectionist, and i have caught myself making small errors in decreases, or losing count on rows and just saying 'aw, it'll be fine.' Since i am not making cables or a patterned stitch, this seems to be working for me. Craving another large knitting project, i immediately started working on my alpaca vest project. i got all the makings for it at stitches: the yarn is Misti Baby Alpaca Chunky , and the pattern is from Alpaca Fiber Exchange . It is knit on 9's and is a super-quick knit. i have already finished the back piece.
It is just plain stockinette on the back, and seed stitch under the arms. I just got the idea this morning to think about trying to add pockets in the side seam.... should be exciting! I am also making another pair of socks out of hand-dyed SW Merino from Over the rainbow yarns . I don't remember how many yards of this stuff i got, or how much it cost, but it was cheap, and it is beautiful. I no longer have an interest in cherry tree hill or koigu merino.
And, james over at gnit led me to a really fun-looking project illanna created. Check this out. ![]() They are stitch markers with little charms made from shrinky dinks. you can personalize your own shrinky dink by printing out the picture you want to use. It does not get any better than that. Next time i am at the craft store, i am getting some of that!! I used to love making shrinky dinks as a kid. in fact, i think i still have a few muppet ones around... Posted: Sun - March 6, 2005 at 10:19 AM | |
