so many kates, so much knitting! It is always so nice to go to knitting night at
the Mel-O-Dee. Trader Joe's is right next door so you can grab a salad for
dinner, and Martin will make you a stiff drink to go with it.... But still, no
new strangers came. in fact, our old strangers couldn't make it
either.
We had a very productive evening last night. i finished Baby Square #4 and the first hippie bootie. i had to really resist starting a second pair of booties from my new book 50 baby bootees to knit. but i know it is best to finish the hippie booties first. we had the confluence of 3 knitting kates last night (okay one of the was crocheting but it still counts). Kate K worked on her skully scarf
Kate W put us all to shame by crocheting an entire
cell phone cozy in one night. That's Gen in the background balling up her
kool-aid yarn for a tea cosy.
The final Kate (Kate H) learned to knit last night.
She's a natural. She'll be knitting up kitty-cat hats in no
time.
Wenonah finished her first-object-ever (i don't know what it is). Here she is modelling it as a hat
Sarah started on the felted diaper bag in the knitting for baby book. she is currently recovering from a disappointing yarn delivery from yarn forward. The complimentary color for bag which was named "gold" is not as yellow as she hoped for.
Ingrid did some baby-square maintenance. Ingrid was
the lucky recipient of a temporary needle roll. I plan to make a bunch of them,
and she's really excited about it, but i don't know when i will have time. So i
gave her one of the first ones i made as a loaner until the better ones are
done.
have i mentioned how concerned I am about the baby blankets? It sounded like such a good plan to have everyone knit squares that are the same size, but that is just not what is happening. Some are too big, and some are too small. i fear the day I have to piece them all together. any tips? Posted: Wed - June 30, 2004 at 01:55 PM | |
