I can crochet!Well, at least a little bit.
Last night I picked up the crochet hook sent to
my by my
old secret pal. With my computer at my lap, I learned enough crochet
to make a chevron pattern. Now I can make an ugly afghan just like I have been
wanting! I am going to use up all of the weird acrylic yarn I have accumulated.
Since most of it was collected with a bacon-type pattern in mind, it is going to
have some pretty ugly colors in it.
The weird coaster-like thing in the picture is the equivalent of a business card from a new knitting store in town, Stash. I drove by today and saw that they are finally open and I stopped by to check it out. The store itself is just beautiful. They seems to carry really high-end (expensive yarns). It was cool to see all of the Rowan Yarns since I haven't seen many of them before. The staff was polite, and not overbearing. If I can ever afford a $10 ball of yarn, I will certainly go there. today I will be working in the lab all day which sucks, but also means i can try to start the afghan.
