Guest Post

My friend Bunny just moved to London. There she can bask in the glory that is cheap rowan and Debbie Bliss yarns. Here is a report of her loot so far, excerpted (with her permission) from an email she sent me.

I can't remember if I told you about how I was going to the Knitting
and Stitching Show in London this weekend

http://www.twistedthread.com/knittingandstitchingshow/alexandrapalace.asp

Anyway, I went with my housemate Victoria, who was there for the
Stitching part of it, and it was awesome. It was ridiculously huge,
with probably the same number of knitting exhibitors as stitches west,
and a ton of other exhibitors from the "Fiber Arts" genre. Also a
bunch of artsy exhibits which i paid little attention too, what with
all the shopping...

Check out the photo of my stash:

I bought 18 skeins of Debbie Bliss Cashmerino Superchunky for making a
sweater. It was way expensive, but cheaper than buying it in the
states, and best of all, I bought it from Ms. Debbie Bliss herself! I
so wished I had a camera to capture my dorky excitement...

I also got some kureyon for making a multi-dir. scarf and a matching hat
I got 2 skeins of Rowan kidsilk haze (super cheap £4) for making a
floofly scarf, which i also got the pattern for. I got 3 skeins of
Collinette Chrysalis bulky cotton(super super cheap £5 each), which is
absolutely gorgeous..I'm thinking matching legwarmers/armwarmers...I
had no idea how expensive collinette yarns usually are or I would have
bought a whole bunch! Every kind was £5-6 and then Gen told me that
they're like $23 each! damn...already can't wait until next year
now...
