Bridge to Terabithia

Advertised as a fantasy movie with ogres and giants and castles in such, in reality it's a coming of age story, of 2 loner middle-school students.

The advertisers surely used their imaginations to stress the fantasy aspects of this movie, because that's not really what it's about. Two loner kids, constantly picked on at school, become friends and invent their own imaginary world. The fantasy elements were fun to watch, the message was strong, but the acting and dialogue were, for the most part, awkward.

I'm sure this is a good book, and the movie was faithful to the book, but ... I just didn't like it. The dialogue was jarring at times, and most of the adult acting was stilted. But, its a story about kids, and I'm sure young kids will like this movie. Worth it, then, if you have young ones (say, before 15 years old), and you want to expose them to a good message.
