Faktura Gallery presents LA-based artist SVEN BARTH's

new work in the new St. Mary's Art District

MIAMI – May 6, 2005 – Faktura Gallery presents its second show, a solo show by Sven Barth, entitled “SOUR CREAM AND BLUDGEON.”

In his latest show, a solo effort, Sven Barth has put together a group of some of the greatest men to have emerged into popular culture within the past 25 years.  Greatest may be a misnomer, but when presented in

context, the posse of party people should allow the viewer to step back into a world of nostalgia (for lack of a better term) and forget how ridiculous today's "stars" really are.  There's no way to encapsulate the impact that

figures such as Larry Bird and the great Detroit Tiger's manager George "Sparky" Anderson had in words.  Just their visage should be enough to push people to the brink of orgasm, yes that's it, the work is orgasmic.  Each

piece came from an over stimulated mind in need of an outlet and hopefully the stimulation will be passed on to the audience leading to an orgasmic explosion.

The show will travel back from Miami through Portland and San Francisco on its way home to Los Angeles on a tour de force with which there can be no reckoning.

FAKTURA GALLERY is founded on the belief that current technological revolutions in communication of mechanical reproduction have blurred lines between experimental and exceptional artistic production. Barth's new work exemplifies Faktura's concern for medium integrity and the creation of an experience through visual communication.
