 DOTTIE

Dottie was the very first dog I rescued from the streets of St. Mary's Art District.

FAKTURA PUPPY #1      DOTTIE

June 9, 2005- Faktura Gallery is going to start featuring dogs in need of homes at many openings, as well as on the website. Whenever I find a new pup in need, I'll post information and pics on here, and hopefully this will be a regular feature of Faktura, since Little Haiti is in NEED of help with it's stray over population.
I successfully found a home for the first puppy today!

The Story:
Yesterday I saw a mom stray out by my dumpster. I tried to offer her some food, but she got scared away before I could get the food to her. When I turned to corner this morning, there was a small puppy licking a Butterfinger wrapper. I stopped the car and jumped out, after a little coaxing I got her to let me pick her up, and the rest is history! I was here early for an interview with a journalist from the Herald, and it just so happened that she fell in love with "Dottie" [as she named her]. I helped her bath her, and get her to the vet for a check up and the first round of puppy shots. She is already on her way to her new home, and all of this before noon today! More of these puppies have been spotted in the area, and I am hoping I'll be able to find them before something bad happens to them. I don't mind keeping them for a little bit and getting them into shape, but Faktura already has two resident pups [a five year old Doxie and a five month old Doberman- a demanding pair!]. So, if you or anyone you know of is looking to get a new puppy, please consider adopting a puppy in need. I am sure I will find more soon, and I will post about them as soon as I do.
