This is a website dedicated to the band Poop!

If you don't know Poop you don't know one of the worst, funniest, most inept but actually quite good bands in Pensacola during the early 1980's.

Read about and listen to what you will
wish you had never heard about. ;-)

This site is dedicated to my friends and bandmates who enjoyed the times when the band Poop! ruled the Pensacola Rock scene. At least the Rock scene of the State Road 297 area!

Poop started when Neal Sexton decided he wanted to learn to play guitar. We went looking for a guitar and he ended up buying a Hondo II Gibson Cutaway copy. Really a piece of crap guitar but not to bad to start with. We found a Divoli amp with built-in tremelo and I too eventually bought a red Hondo II guitar too. Neal's brother Brian was play snare in band at school and we eventually talked him in to playing with us. Neal's sister started seeing Pat who played bass and the band began. Really the band started with Neal, Pat, Brian and I playing together in a room built into their garage. I started coming over as much as possible. Eventually Pat and Lisa got married and they moved into a place of their own. We still played allot together but over time it began to be more of just Neal, Brian, and Kirk. Pat and Lisa eventually moved to Texas, so I began to learn to play bass and the core members of Poop remained Neal, Brian, and Kirk. Over time others joined us as singers, guitarists, keyboarders and as the ever-important groupie. What follows is a "history" of Poop as I remember it. I plan to do extensive research into beer labels in order to accurately remember the experiences of the band.

The Beginning:

Neal and I met through another friend Ed. They both had tricked out Vans and overtime we all started hanging out together. We all loved loud Rock-N-Roll and Neal wanted to learn to play. So we headed to the music store and bought some cheap guitars. We started playing as much as we could, got really bad really quick, then actually started learning some things. But always, from the very beginning we had fun. My family owned a egg farm that we had moved to a different piece of property. We had some large block buildings with loading docks. We would practice with our amps i the big open cement room. Talk about reverb. Then we would stand on the edge of the dock and pretend we were on stage as Eddie Van Halen or Black Sabbath and just have a blast. Over time we got better, I started singing and playing bass and we played a few parties.

This website is for my friends who were in the band and those who heard us play. Man what fun!!!!
