OK, looks like I was wrong...



Apple is going to switch to X86, starting next year with the low-end machines and completing the transition by the end of 2007. You can read about it here. And lots of other places on the web.

The why is: no clear roadmap with PPC architecture, while Intel does have a clear roadmap.

I'm reluctantly starting to see how this makes sense. At least it's the end of the "Megahertz Myth" talk.
