Music Download Biz Gets Reeeeally Interesting...



First, we've had Warner execs jawboning about tiered pricing for iTunes tracks and, essentially, saying that the music companies want a cut of iPod sales (come again?).

Jobs is in the catbird seat on this one. I would be very surprised if Warner actually pulls its music from iTunes, the single most popular music download store, bigger than the rest of the players combined by 3X. Warner would be foolish to refuse to play ball with Apple.

Now comes the news that Microsoft ended talks with 4 music labels because the labels want too much in royalties.

Hmmmm, do you sense a shift here? I sure do...
