7 miles and 5 baths later
We took a nice family bike ride tonight after
dinner. And after cleaning up dinner. Trying hard to get the kitchen clean each
night. It would've been nice to develop that habit, oh, 30 years ago, huh? It's
hard to learn things once you're a grown up. Anyway, we rode down to the Rail Trail which is a 1 mile ride, almost
exactly, from home. Then we rode 2 miles down the trail, all the way to Dublin
Road. We'll have to start earlier to go farther, I'm not even sure what comes
after Dublin, although eventually Coleman and beyond. Dublin is "the edge of
the world" as far as town is concerned. Then of course we had to turn around
and ride back. Riding with one child on the seat in back of me and 2 more
children in the
Burley is hard work! The Burley was a gift from Diane, whose children
had outgrown it. She has been very kind in passing neat, well taken care of
things down to us. LittleD weighs probably about 23 lbs, and Tobi-Wan 27, and
Emidala around 35 ... so 85 lbs just of children, not counting the trailer
itself. Midland doesn't have any BIG hills, but they're big enough, even a long
slow gentle slope makes for a good workout. When we got home, the children were
playing basketball on "the plank" while Dale moved training wheels around. I
stole a ball and tried a shot - and made it! Much to my surprise. And then 3
more! With no misses! I missed on my 5th attempt, but then made two more before
going in. Wow, I didn't think I could do it! Then I bathed the 3 youngest, all
at once. When they were done I called the Big Two in, sent one to each main
floor bathroom, and scrounged around for crackers for their snack. Now I'm
trying hard to get them to bed. It is 9:40 pm which is pretty late for
the-night-before-church. Especially when Dale is running the Big Screen. time
to braid Leia's hair and send them all to bed!
