Progress in the Slow Kitchen Project

I finally got to an important part of my Slow Kitchen Project. I got the window over the sink painted, thanks in part to the FlyLady ... Shining my sink, washing my dishes more frequently, spending time AT my sink made me wish I'd taken my Slow Kitchen Project one step further when I'd worked before.

When we moved in, (three years ago) the kitchen looked like this:

I have always disliked so much dark brown. Last year I worked on the first bank of cupboards, stopping at the sink, which you can see on the left below. It was indeed an improvement, but I disliked standing by the dark dark sink each day. So I decided to paint the sink section. Here is the sink area, before and after:

You can see on the right that I still have one last "bank" on this side of the kitchen to do ... but at least I'm making progress, and the new-looking sink area makes me happy! :D Doesn't the sink area look much nicer and brighter? Dale said from outside, at night, it even glows green! LOL! After I put my plant back - a healthier one than in the pic on the left, I'm on to the fridge bank and back door! :D
