My Head Is Leaking

I'm sitting here with blueberry juice colored goo leaking from next to my ear. I'm not sure I can stand the sensation and fear of dripping for another 3 hours, my goal was 6. This morning I thawed out the frozen remnants of my last henna experience ~ henna and beetroot powder. I love the color of the beetroot, but I've been told it doesn't really stain hair permanently. I'd love my hair to have a strong beet-colored hint to the auburn, but I don't think that's going to happen. Anyway, I mixed the thawed henna with a separate mixture of indigo powder and hot water. Mixed them separate to make sure both were releasing dye. Then mixed it into a brownie-batter-brown glop on my head. I still have leftovers, which I re-froze. My hair is so thin. So I've been glopped up for going on 3 hours now. I've got that tickley-wet sensation all around the edges, like it's dripping, although I've only got 2 spots actually dripping out of the plastic wrap and towel. The idea of leaving it on so long is that the color will deepen to more of a burgundy. We'll see. Of course, I won't be able to tell, strictly, since I mixed it with the indigo. It's leaking a fair amount in back, too, I just realized, but the towel is absorbing it. So ... I'm trying to decide if I should take a nap while I wait. I could go outside and sit in the sun and read, heat is supposed to help activate the dyes ... it's sunny and pleasant outside, 65 degrees. Of course, I can't be seen, in my grungies and toweled head ... Vanity has it's restrictions.

So anyway, that's what's up for now. I'll take pix and post an update later. Meanwhile I hope I'll be able to tell the difference between dye and brains leaking out ...
