Tzimon Yliaster

Tzimon was born at 9:25 AM on March 2, 1966 in Brooklyn, New York. He finished high school in a town called Massapequa, on a blighted sandbar popularly known as Long Island, then attented college for a while at the State University of New York at Binghamton. Finding formal education too restrictive for his likings, he left in 1988 eventually crashing on the floor of Hine Nui Te Po. The two moved to Lancaster, PA and got married, got run out of town by the Klan, and eventually settled in San Francisco, CA. They had a daughter in 1994, Cypress.

Magickally, Tzimon began his infamous career at the age of 8, sacrificing baby gerbils in a specially prepared coconut shell in order to invoke the bubbling insanity that dwells at the center of the universe -- Azathoth. He did not perform a banishing.

By the age of 13, Tzimon began stealing whatever magickal books he could lay hands on from local libraries. Most influential amongst these were Ram Dass' Be Here Now and Idries Shah's Oriental Magic. At age 16, he met up with a group of pagans in Binghamton and spent nearly 7 years as a Wiccan before realizing that Wicca was really just another Judeo-Christian religion that held nothing of great value for him. He struck out on his own, investigating a variety of magickal paths.

In 1991, Tzimon found Chaos Magick and began a correspondence with the IOT. He was initiated into the Illuminates of Thanateros in 1992, only to discover that he'd stepped into the midst of a ridiculously rigid, hierarchical order headed by an egotistical madman and that this, too, would hold no value in terms of practical magickal work. After standing all he could of political games, he left the IOT in late 1992. He continued work in San Francisco with a group that had originally been conceived as an IOT Pact-Temple, Temple Babel. Several months after leaving the IOT, he helped to found the AutonomatriX, and Babel became an AutonomatriX working group.

Temple Babel closed in early 1994, with the birth of Cypress. Tzimon continued his own work, leaving the AutonomatriX in 1995, after it began to degenerate into more interpersonal games and seemed to be getting nothing done. Tzimon, however, continued to work at a frenzied pace.

Tzimon announced his membership in Z(Cluster) at its inception. He continues his magickal work, drawing on such influences as Austin Osman Spare, Shaivism, Tantra, qabalah, Polynesian shamanism, and general first-hand experience. The results of much of his work can be seen at Tools of CHAOS.

He is a great believer that magickal orders outlived their usefulness after the creation of mass media. Magickal information wants and needs to be free in order to bring about Pandaemonaeon. He opposes the exchange of money for magickal information in general. He can be a very nice guy, or he can be rather ferocious if provoked.
