- Richard Wagner, the great composer of music dramas or "operas," as they are more mundanely called, and an OTO Gnostic saint. Check it out.
- Friedrich Nietzsche, the philosopher and personal friend of Wagner was devoted to Wagner's work until a philosophical dispute led to emnity. Nietzsche is also an OTO Gnostic saint.
- Arthur Schoeperhauer, a German philosopher of the 19th Century who was an important influence on Wagner and also a student of Hinduism. "We forfeit three-fourths of ourselves to be like other people."
- William Blake, English poet, painter and thinker, OTO Gnostic saint. "The road of excess leads to the palace of wisdom." Created the Red Dragon painting (the great Man-Dragon and the Woman Clothed with the Sun) featured in Tom Harris' novel of the same name. This painting was also a focus of fascination in Aleister Crowley's novel, Diary of a Drug Fiend.
- Fyodor Dostoevsky. Author of Crime and Punishment, The Brothers Karamazov and other great novels. He was an important influence on my young life. Read an exerpt from The Brothers Karamazov
- Henry Miller. I fell in love with him when I was 17-years-old. I still love him for his mysticism, his romanticism and his originality. I regard him as a soul mate.
- The Lord of the Flies, by William Golding.
- The Pythagorean Tarot. This interesting tarot deck was designed with from the point of view that, "Since there seems to be no evidence that the Tarot was connected with Qabalah before Court de Gebelin (1781), my interpretations make no attempt to retain the well-known correspondence between the Triumphs and the Hebrew alphabet and Qabalistic Tree of Life. Instead I have tried to go back to the earliest extant decks, to understand the iconography, and to organize the cards on the basis of that understanding."

- Paranoia's Drug Information. What the hell. I'll give you a link to the page the comic came from. It is a real oddity. An honest approach to the dreaded "D" word.
- DARE. To hear the other side of the issue, go to The Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) Program (DARE to keep kids off drugs).

- False Memory Syndrome and False Allegations "We live in an age of evidence-based medicine, and we will increasingly be expected to justify the methods we use in psychiatry as in the rest of medicine. Can the proponents of recovered memory therapy give us any reasoned evidence that would convince a skeptical onlooker of the validity of either their theories or their practices? If so, they should produce it immediately, since there seems to be a growing groundswell of opinion against them."
- Malachi Martin, an exorcist, who has written a fascinating book about exorcism called Hostage to the Devil, an excerpt hereby provided.
- Page. This page has existed since the time of Netscape 2 as far as I know and has been updated to the point of recognizing (if only to damn) the Marquee tag and flash. I think the author would be happier if we all went back to text-only browsers like Lynx. He's against animation, frames, background music, flash, and image maps. In other words, if you hate this page, you will love his.
- HTML Heaven. My response to "HTML Hell."
- Heavens Gate. You heard about the cult with the cool website that took the big exit. Nobody's been able to access the site but someone put up a mirror site. Find out what they have had to say for themselves; why the mass suicide occurred. Find out why they don't call it suicide. Then take a humorous look at them that has, never-the-less, a serious message.

- Get El Topo NOW. Fellow Americans: This is the original and uncut version, far superior to the Japanese bootleg that is more readily available in this country. The problem is that the tape is in PAL format which only works on English and European VCRs. You need to get this tape converted to the American format. Then you can enjoy the coolest movie in the world. It's worth it!

- Cry For War. This is a book of the streets and the people who inhabit them. It's a book of punk rockers, welfare mothers, Golden Gate Park, pot farms, nomads crashing in abandoned cabins, and murder. Suzan and Michael are pot dealers (and smokers) who are high on their own insanity. They see themselves as Moslem assassins and their lives as a holy war against "Witches" and other "infidels." Richard Reynolds becomes Suzan and Michael as does the reader. How many times have you become somebody else? How often has it been someone repellant and still you loved the experience?

- Rocky Horror Picture Show. As if this needs an explanation!

For the uninitiate, Cool World is the world of cartoons. There are some brilliant cartoons on TV, the papers and the web today. Here are my favorites. Unfortunately, most of the cool links I had here no longer exist. Quitters! But a few are left. Most of the Daria links are gone but there is a great one for Quinn, her sister. At least Dilbert still has a fairly robust web presence. Go Dilbert!
