Summary
Boston's Walk On is an underrated masterpiece. Because of Brad Delp's departure, closed-minded Boston fans automatically shunned the album. It was released in '94, when gundge and alternative rock were in. It blends classic 70's Boston with 80's power rock, creating a rocking work of art. Boston's best album in my opinion, and anyone else who disagrees is either not a true Boston fan, or is just too closed-minded to accept Fran Cosmos vocals. Let's get this straight: HE SOUNDS EXACTLY THE SAME. It's not like Brad Delp had an incredibly original singing voice anyways, there were like 20 singers in the 70's that sounded exactly the same. Let's review the songs:
I need your Love: the perfect album starter. Fades in with organ, then explodes with the guitar. 9/10
Surrender to Me: Another great song with a classic Boston sound. 8.5/10
Livin' For You: A moving, melodious ballad. 7.5/10
Walk On Medley: Oh my god this is an Epic Masterpiece! This four song medley is possibly THE MOST underrated thing in music.
If it were released in the 70's it would be right up there with Stairway To Heaven.
Walkin' At Night: Starts off with slow, quiet guitars, then explodes into an Eruption-ish solo. Wow. Footsteps, then, 8.5/10
Walk On: A mind blowing hard rocking song, with unbelievable guitars and awesome melody! 10/10
Get Organ-ized: Organ Time!!! Some sweet organ playing and guitar rhythms, a solo, more mind numbing organ and guitar rhythms and a solo that would make Eddie Van Halen jealous. Unbelievable goodness! 9.5/10
Walk On(some more): Starts with a great guitar rhythm, and then the Walk On riff fades in and we go for another round. 9.5/10
Overall: 9.5/10
What's Your name: Classic Boston sound. Alright melody 7/10
Magdalene: Great melody, and a sweet riff before the chorus. 9/10
We Can Make It: Good chorus, but the rest is pretty boring. 7/10
Great album. BUY IT. NOW!
