A few more cool signs

Odds and ends from Kyoto

Here's some more humorous things I've found along my way.
This is the panel on the headboard of my bed. BGM. Any guesses?

It means BackGround Music, I believe, because it pipes in lovely muzak.

Yes, kids, Santa has a new brand. I read the inscription on the wall plaque. It goes on about Santa living on an island in the South Pacific where he's tan and fit, and has the strength of a much younger man as he tends to his yacht. Mermaids are his princesses. And there he is in the window!

I really liked this little cafe. The first time I walked by it, I stopped to read the window text. It was a rainy Staurday 11 am. The guy inside the empty place gave me this big smile and a come-on-in! wave. Though I passed on by the first time, I decided to come back after lunch, and had a great espresso as I planned the rest of my day. Later on that night, after dinner, I walked past the cafe again. Again I saw the owner in the window and gave him a wave from under my umbrella. He shot back the biggest smile and wave, it was so nice to be recognized from before. I took this picture from inside, but reversed it so you can read the text.

Do they mean border?

If I had any worry that in using "OK" I might not be understood, here's the answer to that. A sign in front of a parking garage. Old Kinderhook would be amazed.

Here's a few things I saw in the covered shopping arcades.
