Mission MINI: Epilogue

After a rest in the room, Brian and I headed out for a pre-party bite to eat, not being sure what sort of fooodstuffs might be served at a trendy club.

After a fine mean of Tapas, we met in the lobby to be bussed to the club.  Although I had dressed down a bit from my normal investigative attire (the first time in days I was without a tie), some were dressed quite elegantly - I was struck by the beaty and elegance of the woman in this dress.

After a ride through Barcelona up the hill leading to Tibadabo, we arrived at Club Danzetoria for the final party.  The club itself was in a house set on a very steep hill, and had about five or six levels each with dancing and bars!   Many screens around the building showed various odd things in time to the music, including a funky dancing robot.

Inside on one of the levels MINI had set up this fine Mission MINI car.

And on the car (as on all of the Mission MINI cars) were listed the sponsors who had made the exhibition possible.  Goodyear was of course supplying the runflats that had let us wander Barcelona without fear, and BMG had provided a fine soundtrack with songs from bands like Kosheen and Moby that we had listened to over and over in the car and other areas during the course of the investigation.

Here Brian an Brooks and I talked with a BMG rep about the music - I complemented her on the fine selection.

Dancing was rampant throughout the complex, befitting for a club.

Halley was on hand, even though he had a terrible cold, to thank the investigators for finding his paintings.

The first component of the prize for the winning investigators was revealed - a glass monolith, or "Object etched with MINI" as google would say!  Inscribed was "Mission MINI 2002", which implied perhaps another at some point...

There was to be one more surprise though - as rumored, Team Germany 1 having saved the artwork from disaster was to each receive a lease on any of the Team Cooper S cars for one full year!
Announement - team Germany each get a Misison MINI Cooper S for one year!

We all congratulated them one more time.  Then, the investigation truly over, we all dispersed throughout the club to spend a few more hours enjoying the music and dancing.
