Mission MINI: Day 2

The final morning of the investigation - we have to find the paintings today or they will be destroyed.

We arrive at HQ early as usual.

We don't have any leads at the moment so we take some time to look around.

After some though, we decide to interview Susana, one of the suspects we have not yet met in person. However, just as we reach the gallery (located across from the pictured museum of modern art), we get another message that Carles Masso, the lawyer, has been spotted outside his apartment and to head there.

Masso is the man to the far right pictured here. Luckily we had a similar picture in our case documents, and while we wandered near the address trying to decide what building he lived in, agent Winnie used her perless skills of face recongition to spot him across the plaza.

We called to him from across the street to see if he was Masso. On hearing his name, he looked around quickly and ran down an alley!! The game was afoot.

Being all in good shape, it wasn't long before we caught up with Carles and had him sit down to talk things over. We got a number of interesting details from him, the dust on his car and late night were explained by his time spent at a local brothel.

Leaving Carles, we were once again sent a message - this time that we needed to come to the office and collect a newspaper. We dropped off Winnie and Brooks at a train station to buy one of every newspaper they could find, while Brian and myself proceeded to HQ to collect the package - which turned out to be a newspaper and a curious coin.

After some research, we learned to look at the classifieds. While Winnie and Brooks were scanning the pages, Brian and I hit the pavement to interview Carles Masso's doorman.

On returning from this interview we finally found the ad we sought - an ad for a car wash with "the best shine in town". Close enough to "special", we headed there strightaway.

An important break in the case!

Once at the car wash, we asked for the "Special" shine. Juan knew right away what we wanted and handed over a ticket for a sushi restauraunt in Old Town.

We wandered back there and asked for the "Sushi Deluxe". Sure enough, the chief went into the back to whip some sushi - and while quite tasty, we also found inside a locker key.

Using this locker key at the train station, we found a phone number. This number had a voice noting that "The secret code has already been given. Proceed as planned". What to do now? We had few clues, and debated what to do... based on the coin we received earlier we decided to try the Reyes Catolics, a large church in the center of Barcelona. On the way there, we received an important message - Sam had recovered his car and we were to meet at the World Trade Center at the port!
