Our trek across the Sandals empire continues..........We've covered MoBay, Negril, Royal Plantation, and now Sandals Whitehouse!!! That covers all the different areas of Jamaica completely. We have Antigua & St Lucia to go!!!

We were EXCITED about THIS one!!!! Sandals Whitehouse is the first Sandals that was built from the ground up to be a Sandals AND we would receive our "Silver Sandals"! (The "Siver Sandals" are awarded after staying a total of 35 nights...) All other resorts were taken over and "converted" into a "Sandals". So Kristy and I were very excited to see what the resort would look/act like.

After reading the latest postings on TripAdvisor, I was somewhat worried......the most recent postings noted that the resort was only 30% occupancy, and that they were closing a lot of the restaurants. And our flight to Jamaica confirmed this idea of it being "low" season because there were only 24 people on our plane! (one of the larger 6 seat per row, not the standard 5 seat per row) However, when we arrived at the resort, we found that the resort was 70% occupied!!!! A high enough occupancy rate to be denied any room upgrade, even though this was our 6th stay at a Sandals, and our 4th time in Jamaica! Regardless of this, the stay was wonderful, the weather was great, the food was satifying, and the time with my wife was treasured.

Get some wine & cheese (or a simple Tanqueray & tonic....you know who you are...), kick your feet up & peruse the menu choices at the left. The "food" section is a new, much requested item, which highlites the food @ the resort, while "the resort" link is my vacation captured in pictures. Enjoy!!!!!

An odd thing about Sandals Whitehouse......If you've been to any other Sandals resort, you're aware it hard to take a photograph without a Sandals logo showing up somewhere....on a building, in the pool...it's ALL over. But Whitehouse is noticibly void of this. Other than the pool, there is no permanent signage for Sandals.....and they're missing the all-to-familiar map of the resort as well. I can discount not having a map, b/c the resort has only been open a year, but the lack of signage? It's almost like it this idea doesn't work out, they can easily change to something else (like a Beaches...which it was the original plan), or even sell it???
