Take 5

Take 5 (2000) to the piece by Paul Desmond and Dave Brubeck is our first totally American dance, using jazz music and invented figures. It combines a touch of Martha Graham, a little rapper sword, and a dash of the Flemish In de Kring longsword. The combination of a tune written in 5/4 and dancers with two feet opens up new possibilities. This dance has solidified our reputation for pushing the envelope of sword dancing!
