North Shirley Volunteers (1995) combines a Lancashire clog break and a relaxed but jaunty step with traditional figures to form a modern longsword dance with an old feel. The tunes are "Sportsman's Hornpipe" and "The Jolly Beggarman".
After Orion's trip to the first International Sword Spectacular in England a sword and clog team from Lancashire asked permission to learn and perform North Shirley Volunteers! Seven Stars received written notation from Orion, and to our great joy, were able to dance it beautifully! During our second appearance at the Sword Spectacular several constellations came into alignment, and we performed it together!
