Take your sister to work day...What a way to finish off my last Paris trip of
the year than to bring my sister, Kim along with me. Kim and Mom had been
visiting us in NH for three days before Kim and I took off on my three day
trip.
I had been planning this for the past month and
it all went off perfectly. I replaced the customary 5 hour nap that crewmembers
usually take after arriving at the hotel with a 4 1/2 hour bike ride instead.
We took a fantastic bike tour from Fat Tire Bike
Tours. What a great way to 1) See the main sights in Paris and 2)
wake up after the long flight
out.

We saw the Arc de'triumph and then high tailed it back to our hotel. Kim really wanted to check out some of the grocery stores near our hotel, so we managed to visit the Fran Prix where we picked up some wine and chees and the Monoprix where we got some bread to go with it. The big event was still to come. I had made reservations at the Tour Montparnasse, which has a restaurant called Le Ciel de Paris where you can get an amazing dinner with the best view of Paris. I wasn't a very good date, as I was just a bit distracted while taking these pictures during our dinner:
The final plan for the evening was to catch a boat ride down the Seine and drink the wine we bought, but Kim was really starting to fade. We had been awake for 33 hours when we got back to the hotel room that night. I sent a few emails and chatted with Linda and when I got back to the room, Kim was sound asleep. The flight home was great and Kim managed to get first class for both directions. She was just blown away by the service as well as the wonderful flight attendants we had. I really enjoy doing things like this for Kimmie as she ALWAYS remembers even the tiniest of details years later and she is just so appreciative. Plus she's fun to pal around with.
