Japanese Christmas Customs

So it was Christmas, what did you do? (Please click Read More)

Although most of the people are non-Christian, Christmas is one of the biggest events of a year in Japan. Shops are decorated red and green, pizza delivery guys wear Santa Claus clothing, business newspaper predicts the economic effect of Christmas etc etc.

I heard 'Christmas Cake' is a Japanese original Christmas tradition and I don't know the exact origin. People buy cakes (some even queue in front of popular cake shops) on Christmas Eve, and have it with other people.

The one we had this year is like this:

Ho- ho- ho-!

You may say this 'custom' is strange or weird. But if you once have a bit of one of Japanese cakes, you will change your mind.

The problem with our cake this year was the size: we had to eat the same cake on the Christmas Day as well!

Anyway I hope everyone enjoyed the Christmas day, and I am glad the 'Christmas Day attack' did not occur.
