Snow and post card

what
to do during the last weekend before new year holiday (please click Read
More)
Last weekend was very cold which started with
snow during the Friday night. I did not expect it at all, and I found the snow
was very heavy after I said 'well I'll be there around 10' to one of the clients
on the phone. I regretted saying it after I opened the curtain and saw the sight
as the top of this entry!Partly
because of the global warming, it does not snow very often around Kyoto area.
When it does, we are in a total panic. This time I had to think how to keep my
promise which I made with the half-sleep head. After checking some different
weather forecasts on the net and TV, I thought the snow would not be harder in
the late morning. So I decided to drive, and I could keep my
promise.
Snowman
of 23
century.-------It
is now time to prepare for the new year holiday here in Japan. Christmas is
already one of the big events of the year too, but new year takes more people
away from their usual life. What we do this period includes cleaning up the
house (especially the places we do not clean very often such as windows, lamp
shades etc etc), planning what to do during the new year holiday... and make new
year cards. Many people now utilize
PCs and printers for the both sides of a post card, but I stick to write each
addresses by hand and make my own messages by an ancient silk-screen printing
machine.Put a card on the
machine...
Press
the
lid...
And
you get another printed
post-card!
I
know it is out-of-date thing to do, but there are some people I remember once a
year only at this occasion. I want to take a little time to think of them, at
least when I write them new year cards.
I'll be happy to receive a post card
from someone I haven't seen for ages, and know I am still
remembered.
