Some
photos of the newest and oldest buildings in Tokyo (Please click Read

Masayo and I visited Tokyo last weekend. I took
some photos of the buildings we visited; they are either very new or very old. I
think this is a metaphor of the characteristic of the
city.
'Hills
Tower' of Roppongi Hills Roppongi Hills
consist of the above tower, some apartments, TV station and some smaller
residential buildings. It is a very modern area where you live, you eat out and
you shop regardless the cost.
An
19th century building covered with ivy in Ueno.
Ueno is famous with a huge public park
(where many homeless people used to camp but they no longer exists), and the
park has many nice looking old buildings like the
above.
A
building of ancient music school of Japan:
Ueno. I don't think the building is still
used for teaching, but it seemed this is now a shrine of music teachers
here.

Another
view of Tokyo International Forum,
Yurakucho.
By the way, the top photo is
nothing to do with this entry. It is a photo of handmade paper monkeys which we
sold some weeks ago. Next year is the year of monkey in Japanese traditional
calendar, and we promoted these monkey paper crafts by saying that the evil
sprits are afraid of the faces of monkey.
