SIPS
sips is a great little command line utility built
into OS X....
For example, let's say you have a folder of tiffs
and you want to convert them all to jpegs and put the converted jpegs into a
folder named results inside the folder containing the
tiffs:
Navigate to the folder
containing the
tiffs.
kieranbook:~/tmp/pw_woa
kieran$ ls -al
total
1256
drwxr-xr-x 9 kieran staff
306 Sep 30 12:52 .
drwxrwx--x 35
kieran staff 1190 Sep 29 23:56
..
-rw-r--r-- 1 kieran staff
99420 Sep 30 08:37
CVSRepositoryInfo.tiff
-rw-r--r-- 1
kieran staff 140088 Sep 30 08:37
CVSSelectModule.tiff
-rw-r--r-- 1
kieran staff 138824 Sep 29 23:56
JavaBuildPath.tiff
-rw-r--r-- 1
kieran staff 106904 Sep 29 23:56
JavaBuildPath1.tiff
-rw-r--r-- 1
kieran staff 98118 Sep 30 08:37
JavaBuildPathProjectsTab.tiff
-rw-r--r--
1 kieran staff 46096 Sep 30 08:36
SelectProjectsToAdd.tiff
drwxr-xr-x
2 kieran staff 68 Sep 30 12:52
results
Next run a sips command as
follows:
kieranbook:~/tmp/pw_woa kieran$
sips -s format jpeg *.tiff --out
results
... easy!
