Here are some of the shore crabs that can leave the protection of the water and roam about on land when the tide is low. Many of them roam at night, looking for scraps of food. Other crabs, such as the Blue Swimmer Crab visit this tidal region when the tide is high, looking for unwary shore crabs to capture and eat.
