Jambling (participle v.)
The dubious practice of investing one's entire
winnings from a previous bet on an even more unlikely prospect in the mistaken
belief that one is on a winning streak and therefore can't possibly
lose.
The prospect of getting something for nothing is
well known to turn many otherwise sane and rational beings into complete
gibbering idiots, which is why governments around the world have favoured
liberalisation of the gambling laws for several
decades.
The oft quoted maxim
‘Quit while you're ahead’ should generally be brought into play and,
failing that, professional help should be sought immediately.
