Fannikin (n.)

A person who takes great pride in wearing fashionable designer clothing, and will go to almost any lengths to ensure that everyone else knows it.

Many fannikins are driven towards a career in the media or entertainment industries in a vain attempt to draw more attention towards themselves, although the phenomenon is observed just as widely amongst the common folk.
