Wrapture (n.)
The overwhelming feeling of joy and satisfaction
experienced by some people upon receiving a particularly well wrapped
present.
Such emotions are thought to be transmitted by
the high concentrations of ‘gift vapour’ that may be trapped within
the wrapping through the skilful use of brightly coloured paper and sellotape.
Less carefully wrapped presents may cause the gift vapour to slowly leak out,
generating an air of resigned acceptance—and possibly even
hostility—at the time the present is opened.
