Misery cloud (n.)
The oppressive atmosphere of fear and negativity
that surrounds an ultrapessimist.
Care should be taken not to get beneath somebody
else's misery cloud, as it can typically only be dispersed by copious quantities
of psychiatric counselling, foisting it off on some other poor unfortunate sod,
or curling into a ball and sobbing like a baby for up to five hours (any more
than that is just self-indulgence).
