Blogtionary (n.)
A humorous dictionary provided on the Internet in
the form of a weblog—or ‘blog’ as it is commonly
known—to give voice to the author's personal observations, obsessions, and
general downright silliness. The aim of a blogtionary is to help narrow the gap
between the large number of widely shared and understood experiences on the one
hand, and the lack of any definitive or well documented terminology for those
experiences on the other.
This particular blogtionary was inspired by
Douglas Adams' and John Lloyd's seminal volumes,
The Meaning of
Liff and
The Deeper Meaning of
Liff, and Douglas Coupland's
inaugural classic, Generation X: Tales for an Accelerated
Culture.
