Hard of thinking (n.)
If not actually stupid, then somewhat thick,
dim-witted and lacking in commonly held mental faculties.
As a result of recent EU legislation, the hard of
thinking will be required to wear an orange badge containing a distinctive
upside-down question mark symbol (¿) when frequenting establishments where
serious or non-trivial discussions may take place—i.e. everywhere outside
of their own homes.
At least 50% of
television programmes, particularly news, current affairs and documentaries will
also be required to provide special subtitles for the hard of thinking, and
additional parking spaces will be provided at local supermarkets and other
facilities for such people on the grounds that they are too dense to understand
that the spaces marked for use by disabled shoppers or those with young families
are not intended for them.
