Post-Elevator Disorientation Syndrome; ‘PEDS’
(n.)
The odd habit of always turning the wrong way
into a corridor when getting out of a lift.
Despite have carried out lots of terribly
interesting and complicated experiments with mice, homing pigeons, monkeys, not
to mention a rather attractive goat, scientists are still at a complete loss to
explain what actually causes post-elevator disorientation syndrome. Some say it
has something to do with the Earth's magnetic field, phases of the moon or
subatomic particles, but most don't really give a hoot, and let's face it there
are much more important things to worry about, such as the likelihood of
naturally occurring polyphony in
‘wingtones’.

on an idea by George Wright.]
