Update History

10/10/05: First update in nearly two years. Split up various pages to make them easier to load and less bandwidth intensive (and keep my .Mac from timing out on bandwidth usage). Fixed some factual errors. For the most part, this site is finished updating. The cost of gas, free time, et cetera has been its undoing. I have gotten out of the road sign business and into airplanes, and I am now a published airplane photographer. You can still email me with questions or comments, or contribute some images, but the likelyness of the page being updated is slim. I will leave the page up as long as I pay for my .Mac. Thank you to everyone who has contributed or sent me a letter. I appreciate it and I read and reply to every one.

10/10/05: Updates to the Mass Turnpike eastbound and westbound, MA 2 Westbound and old Holyoke US 5. Thanks to Greg for I-90W and MA 2W contributions. Also fixed some spelling mistakes and broken links.

8/31/05: Massive update! Thanks to Arrow of misc.transport.road, many gaps in my road coverage have been filled. First, I have taken my own pictures and added updates to the following routes: MassPike, MA 102 (and NY 22), MA 41, US 20, and MA 9. Arrow's contributions are for the following: I-91, US 5, US 20, US 202, MA 2, MA 2A, MA 8, MA 8A, MA 9, MA 10, MA 20A, MA 21 (including old MA 21 underneath the Quabbin), MA 32, MA 33, MA 47, MA 63, MA 66, MA 67, MA 78, MA 112, MA 116, MA 141, MA 142, and MA 143. All of his contributions have been marked in the appropriate pages.

7/21/05: Created new page for MA 102, MA 8 from the CT border to Becket, US 20 from Becket to Lee, and some miscellaneous US 7 additions.

7/18/05: Updated US 7 north of Pittsfield and maps of the proposed Pittsfield US 7 bypass, Route 2 from Williamstown to Florida, and MA 8 from N. Adams to Pittsfield

7/2/05: Added lots of US 7 photos from Pittsfield on down to the CT state line. Added a detail photo of the Anne McHugh monument at Exit 4 of the Masspike and the I-291 old button copy sign at the terminus of I-291, both courtesy of the Mass Turnpike authority.

6/5/05: Added new single photos to US 5S and US 20E. Added lots of MA 9E photos, one MA 9W photo, many I-90W photos, and the Boston Road Meet photos.

5/10/05: Updated Routes 5, 57, 20, and the Turnpike. US 5 has photos of the South End Bridge and a plaque. 57 has a picture of the stub highway. US 20 has updated bridge information (it was built in 1932), and the turnpike has a tollbooth photo as well as a monument plaque photo.

3/28/05: Gas money is tight, so no new photographs yet, but I did add a page on commentary on an old Springfield highway plan map.

2/27/05: Updated the I-91 (91 Northbound), US 5 (some south and north, mostly old signs), US 202/MA 10 (two really, really old signs in Westfield), and MA 9 (Westbound sign in Northampton) pages with new photos. Made some small tweaks here and there to various pages. Added a link to Michael Summa's New England old signs page. Also added a few links in history sections to Steve Anderson's specific route pages.

2/13/05: Made some small corrections based on feedback from misc.transport.road.

2/11/05: Made a bunch of small edits to various pages, modified histories on MA 57 and US 5, and added some aerial photography of interchanges to I-91.

2/5/05: Created pages for MA 83, MA 20A, and I-391. Updated I-91, I-291, I-90, MA 57, MA 187, US 20, US 202, and US 5 with lots of photos and history.

12/10/04: Updated history on Route 57, added more images for 10/202, US 20, I-90 Westbound, and created pages for Route 9 and US 7.

11/21/04: Created the site, started pages for I-91, Masspike, US 5, US 20, US 202/MA 10, MA 57, MA 187, and completed I-291.
