TRINITY: Hello, Neo.

THOMAS: How do you know that name?

TRINITY: I know a lot about you.

THOMAS: Who are you?

TRINITY: My name is Trinity.

THOMAS: Trinity? The Trinity? That cracked the IRS D-Base?

TRINITY: That was a long time ago.

THOMAS: Jesus.

TRINITY: What?

THOMAS: I just thought, um... you were a guy.

TRINITY: Most guys do.

THOMAS: That was you on my computer. How did you do that?

TRINITY: Right now, all I can tell you, is that you are in danger. I brought you here to warn you.

THOMAS: Of what?

TRINITY: They're watching you, Neo.

THOMAS: Who is?

(The song playing during this scene is a remix of a Rob Zombie song called Dragula. The first line: "Dead, I am the One . . .")

Thomas stands apart, isolated and uncomfortable, observing but not participating in the club scene, just as his status as The One will continue to keep him somewhat apart and isolated from his peers.

Like Yeshua, Trinity is watching over her 'sheep,' warning him of the danger and guiding him towards a way out. It is up to him, however, to follow and to accept that she knows best.

Notice, too, that nearly all of Thomas' lines are questions that are not related to Trinity's message.

People often do this to avoid talking about their faith. They want to talk about everything except the true issues. They will ask about hypocrisy in the church, talk about scripture they don't understand, etc. While most people do not deliberately try to avoid the issue, I think that subconsciously they are trying to avoid coming face-to-face with Yeshua and their sins.

Notice how deftly Trinity waves off his questions without making him feel that the questions are not important, they are just not to be answered now.

Her questions to him, however, are deisgned to help him verbalize & make more concrete the observations he has made of his world. This is a first step for him in accepting the answers to his questions.

TRINITY: Please. Just listen. I know why you're here, Neo. I know what you've been doing. I know why you hardly sleep, why you live alone and why, night after night, you sit at your computer. You're looking for him.

I know because I was once looking for the same thing. And when he found me he told me I wasn't really looking for him.

Trinity was looking for Morpheus, but it was he found her. That is so like our relationship with God. We seek Him and He makes Himself known to us, and saves us from our 'lost' state, our state of separatenes from Him, bringing us back into a relationship with Him.

Morpheus also told her she wasn't really looking for him...if he is a type of John the Baptizer, this fits perfectly.

I was looking for an answer. It's the question that drives us, Neo. It's the question that brought you here. You know the question just as I did.

THOMAS: What is the Matrix?

TRINITY: The answer is out there, Neo. It's looking for you and it will find you, if you want it to.

God's longing for us is far greater than our longing for Him (Luke 15, Matthew 23:37.) But He "stands at the door and knocks," (Revelation 3:20); he does not break down the door. We must want to be saved; the choice to open the door of our hearts and allow Christ to enter is ours.2
