When the Matrix was first built there was a man born inside who had the ability to change what he wanted, to remake the Matrix as he saw fit. It was he who freed the first of us and taught us the truth; as long as the Matrix exists, the human race will never be free. When he died, the Oracle prophesied his return and that his coming would hail the destruction of the Matrix, an end to the war and freedom for our people. That is why there are those of us that have spent our entire lives searching the Matrix, looking for him. I did what I did because I believe that search is over. |
Here we get some explaination of Morpheus' actions. The entire history will come later, but this is a glimpse into what is going on. The man who had the ability to change what he wanted could be compared to Adam, who had the choice to obey God and remain in the garden, or to disobey and introduce sin into the world. Yeshua is called the 'second Adam.' This would fit Neo. However, the first man also freed the people and taught them the truth, or the Law, so he could also be compared to Moses, who lead the Jewish nation out of captivity and brought them the Torah from God. This Torah, or Law, was the first covenant; Yeshua brought the second covenant. Neo fits this interpretation as well. |

Neo , like every new Christian, must have time to train. Yeshua went into the desert immediately following his baptism; the disciples and apostles spent a great deal of time in John the Baptist's ministry and then in Yeshua's ministry before going out to preach to people. We, too must have training and learn to put on the armour of God, (Ephesians 6-20), learn to pray and fast (Matthew 17:21) and there are many other passages that teach us to live our lives as Christians...all things we should understand at least to some degree before we start trying to tell others about Christianity. |

I believe that Tank represents the Jewish nation here. He is from Zion, a holy city, a kind of 'promised land.' Psalm 50:2, "Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God has shone forth ." Isaiah 64:10, "Your holy cities have become a wilderness, Zion has become a wilderness, Jerusalem a desolation." Jeremiah 31:6, "For there will be a day when watchmen On the hills of Ephraim call out, 'Arise, and let us go up to Zion, to the LORD our God.'" |
