I started to blog this on Sunday afternoon, but I
was too busy knitting.
Then I got flak yesterday for not posting, so I
was going to do it last night. But I was too busy
knitting.
So right before bed, I took a couple of pictures and here I am on my break trying to get this done! (No knitting at work, you know.)
What have I been knitting? Well, lately, it's a sweater. And it's for someone else, so I feel a little rushed. I love the lacey bit around the bottom, but I didn't want it as wide as the original pattern (from Last Minute Knitted Gifts.) It's my first sweater, too!
But I've also knitting and FELTED(!) several bags. The larger one is from the My Constant Companion pattern and is for toting the stuff I use in the Knearly Knitters class on Wednesday night (it's nice to just grab and go rather than try to remember what all I need, again!). The small one is from the My Little Companion pattern and is the one I tend to tote every place with a bit of yarn, needles, and other accouterments in it. Every time I just grab the current project and leave the bag at home I regret it, so it goes everyplace. The round one turned out wider than I expected, so it doesn't make a good tote, but it *does* make a good yarn storage device! It's my own pattern and includes a Mobius strip rim, but that didn't exactly felt well, either, so I'll be trying that idea again. (Check out the book "A Second Treasury of Magical Knitting" by Cat Bordhi for this.)
Oh, and, hey, isn't this the cutest hat?! I love it! I can't wait to try some other patterns for it! I think it will be my favorite 'for a baby' pattern.
OK...enough of my knitting. We also celebrated Passover last Thursday night. It's a little early, but we wanted to celebrate it close to Easter. We had at least 23 people crammed into the Bible study room, most of them on the floor, but some of us had to sit on the couch and in chairs. The Haggadah (meaning 'story', but it is sort of the 'script' you follow for the meal) wasn't the one we used last year, and we were a little disappointed with it, but we've borrowed several books from a Jewish coworker of Chad's and we plan to piece together our own. It was, of course, wonderful.
