Bowls and Baskets

This article is interesting: 5 Tips to Increase Your Likeability.

But mainly I'm posting because I thought I'd finally get some pictures up of the bowls and baskets that I made so long ago.

All of these patterns are from the book A Second Treasury of Magical Knitting by Cat Bordhi. You can see the mobius strip handles and rims if you look closely. This black and white is my favorite. I love the contrasts and everything about it came out exactly as I'd hoped. I have to make one of these for myself...I gave this one away.

I love how these turned out, too. The purple one is the 'bum basket' and my mother-in-law loved it. I love the color of the brown one and the combination of the cream and brown, but the rim didn't quite come out as I'd hoped...it's really hard to see the mobius twist in it. I loved the colors so much that I made a duplicate of it but larger and shallower. I hope the kitty who lives with it doesn't make it her bed.

The green is a bag for my niece, Kathryn. The orange and brown basket never did plump out...the yarn was very thin and I guess I should have knitted it with a tinier needle so the felting would have made the material thicker. Ah, hindsite. It is cute, though, when it's full and plumped up. The purple basket on the right is really tiny...that's a ball of yarn next to it! I think it's the cutest of the baskets. Very dainty and stiff, so it stays rounded like that even when it's empty.
