Maturing Beginning Practice
A climate of fairness, caring, and respect is maintained by the teacher, and students are encouraged to take risks and be creative. The pattern of teacher response to inappropriate behavior is fair and equitable.
Developing Beginning Practice
A climate of fairness, caring, and respect is established by the teacher for most students, but few students take risks and the teachers does little to encourage them. For the most part, the pattern of teacher response to inappropriate behavior is fair and equitable.
Practice Not Consistent With Standard Expectations
The classroom climate is characterized by unfairness or disrespect, either between the teacher and students or among students. Students are unwilling to take risks. Teacher response to inappropriate behavior is unfair or inequitable.
