Races: Overview |

|
The world of Phoenix is dominated by five major humanoid races. These are the descendants of the original settlers. Through generations of influence from the Spheres, the main attributes of each group became exaggerated. The main group of humanoids is still called ‘human’. The other groups named themselves after the races found in Earth mythology that they most closely resembled. The group that settled to the east in the forested areas near the foothills of the Dragon Spine mountain range call themselves ‘elves’. The group that took to mining the caves north from the foothill forests are the dwarves. Even more to the north, beyond the mountains, is where the more adventurous group took to hunting in the plains. These became known as the orcs. Far to the south, bordering on the rain forests, a group took to living up in the enormous trees there. These became known as gnomes. Each race has their own culture and sub-cultures within it. Following are some generalizations about each group. Of course, individuals of a race have their own viewpoints and the Player should feel free to develop the personality of their character as they see fit. The descriptions given here are only to provide a foundation from which to build the character. |
