"Begin at the beginning," said Pooh. From "The Tao of Pooh"
Welcome to my Busy Writer Mama Blog, where I will
do my best not to bore you to death or tell you too many intimate details about
my life or sell you on all of the amazing things I have to offer. That last part
will be hard, but I'll try.
Wow, I can already tell that I could spend
countless hours writing this blog and never, ever sell another piece of writing
again. How the heck are you today? I'm doing pretty good. I mean well. My
husband, an English teacher, is always correcting
me.
Speaking of my husband....we've
started working out at the gym (Bally's), which I had resisted for years. But
now that we're into our second week, I am happy to report that not only do I
already look and feel better, but I enter the gym neurotic as a June bug and
walk out...slightly less neurotic.
How
awesome is that?
I want to say
something about being a Writer Mama, because, after all, that's whole the point.
In fact, I want to respond to something I read last night about the Writer Mama
life.
In their e-mail newsletter, Linda
Formichelli and Diana Burrell wrote about childcare strategies for Writer Mamas,
which (after freaking out that they were stealing my thunder) I thought was
really cool.
I realized I am certainly
not the only one writing about being a Writer Mama, and in fact, I am totally
powerless over who writes what on the
topic.
Then it hit me, you know, like a
big epiphany that it is great to have many of us writing about what it's like to
be a writer mama because we are creating a big fat super-galactic dialogue on
the topic and that is always a good thing.
Right?
So, on second thought, I sent
Linda a note asking to reprint the article here. And thought, wouldn't it be
great to use my blog as a collection of high-quality thoughts for Writer Mamas?
I mean in addition to my own high-quality
thoughts.
So we're waiting to hear back
and that's all I've got for today. Create a great
one!
In the writing
spirit,
Christina Katz
